Dying Against the Rage of the Light, a painting
the title came out of my love of mis-sayings on the Sopranos television series. Many characters would attempt to quote a well known expression or give an example from a film and would say a word that sounded like the proper word but would carry a completely different meaning. Robert Frost instructed us to have rage, rage against the dying of the light and I thought of someone upset trying to quote this poem but in their duress delivering this instead. Plus I like the idea of anger light, such as the devil being born of light. There’s something intense and bizarre about light having ill temperament. Thanks for looking and reading. If you ever have any questions about my art I’m glad to offer my point of view, but be careful as I usually find others’ interpretations of my work are far more beautiful and inspiring than my own.
